I was listening to The Slow Rush by Tame Impala constantly when I started this. The whole album is about getting so caught up in moving forward that you forget to actually be present. I realized I was doing that, always thinking about the next thing instead of noticing what was already around me.
This project became my way of forcing myself to stop and pay attention. To see what feels “regular” or mundane and actually look at it, appreciate it. It’s about amplifying the small things that are easy to miss when you’re rushing through.
I shot this in Tulum. Aesthetically, I was pulled toward Jacquemus and his l’amour collection. Those sand and beige and yellow tones, the way he ties everything back to something deeply personal. But I wanted to bring in my own element, so I added these pops of color through fruit.
The whole thing centers on three focuses: home, for staying still and rooted in the moment. Fruit, for enjoying the literal fruits of everyday life. And body, for feeling everything through your senses, being fully present in your own experience.
It’s less about documenting and more about training myself to notice.
